Nick Lansley's knowledge of technical matters and understanding of the way HMRC works is highly valued by accountants. He now acts as a consultant on enquiry cases and technical issues to accountancy practices across the Midlands and beyond, and direct to businesses and individuals.
He has 25 years of experience in enquiry work with HM Revenue & Customs. After graduating from Birmingham University with a first class degree, Nick joined the old Inland Revenue in 1986. As well as working in Birmingham, Nick also had spells in offices in Dudley and Worcester, and reached the level of Deputy District Inspector.
Nick has a wealth of experience in enquiry work at a local level. Nick benefitted from HMRC’s full technical training and so is in a position to advise on the more complex tax issues. Whilst he was with HMRC, Nick was responsible for investigating the largest and most complex sole trades, partnerships, limited companies and their directors.
He also has experience of offshore, residence and domicile issues, and of successfully presenting cases before the General Commissioners and the Tax Tribunal. Besides handling his own cases, Nick mentored less experienced colleagues and provided technical and procedural advice on casework and tax issues.
Nick earned a reputation for fairness and thoroughness and was well respected by colleagues both within HMRC and outside in the accountancy profession. He left HMRC in 2010 and set up Kidderminster Tax Advice. So whatever your issue or question, Kidderminster Tax Advice will keep you in safe hands.
